What was your problem and how did you hear about us?
After Senator Strieder had promised the tenants of Gehag that the flats would not be sold, he sold them anyway, and through a chain of transactions Deutsche Wohnen ended up as the owner. From then on I regularly received the rent increases the law allows, squeezed out down to the very last penny. Two years ago I went to a lawyer who, after lengthy explanations, finally told me in no uncertain terms that the rent increases were legally watertight and that there was nothing I could do about it. The lawyer's bill only deepened my feeling of being at their mercy.
What concerns did you have before instructing us? Were you afraid of confronting your landlord, for example? What helped you overcome your concerns, and what became of your fears?
When the latest rent increase arrived, I worked out when I would no longer be able to afford the rent on my pension. A friend gave me an article about "conny.legal". It sounds incredible, I honestly still can't quite believe it, and how effortless it was for me. Really super!!!!! The fee for this service was so low that I felt guilty that it really was that little. It has given me back my faith in life, knowing that I won't be pushed out of my flat so quickly. This is real help, especially for a small tenant like me, compared to the overwhelming power of landlords – who on top of that are a listed company where it's all about profit.
